1. When downstream (user) pressure increases,

     a. Pressure backs up through top piping under thediaphragm, pushing the diaphragm up.

     b. Pilot seat closes, restricting flow out of the operatingchamber, through the lower piping.

     c. Main valve closes accordingly.


2. When downstream (user) pressure decreases,

     a. Pressure under the diaphragm decreases.

     b. Pilot seat opens wider, increasing flow out of the operating chamber.
